What are “Interspaces”? AI traveller
With the help of a Machine Learning program (Runway ML), Thomas Cerato created what he calls “interspaces”: spaces born out of photographs of a real place, therefore existing, but extracted by the software from “in between” these photographs. Creating an intermediate space, recognizable by anyone yet no one’s property. Thomas wanted to become an explorer of virgin grounds, so he created his own.
End result
INTERSPACE, fragments of non-place is an installation that invites the viewer to wander. The results of this project are new spaces generated with machine learning allowing one to escape and let his/her mind wonder. The universes, projected on fragments of spaces like walls, lit up something inside the viewer. Strange and disruptive because always shifting, yet comforting because recognizable and warm, these artificial spaces created from real ones are a journey through the dream of constant travel.
